UK cops get £8.5m to probe overseas corruption
(BBC): Specialist British police units working to combat overseas corruption will receive government funding until March 2016, the international development secretary has announced. Justine Greening said parts of the Met and City of London Police and the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) will be given about £8.5m between them. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) will also receive nearly £399,000. Greening said the funding will help "step up" efforts to combat corruption. The teams investigate crimes such as bribery and money laundering by foreign or British criminals in developing countries in the Middle East, Africa and parts of Asia and the Caribbean.
The CPS will form a new taskforce of British legal and investigative experts, to help recover stolen assets across the Middle East. The inquiries are separate from efforts to ensure UK aid is not lost to corruption, which is managed by a counter fraud unit within the Department for International Development (Dfid).

Hope they use it to pay us
Hope they use it to pay us back for all they took from us..
Does that mean the us's will
Does that mean the us's will be paying back all that was taken from the ones who payed the permit fees, duties, and the many other taxes that are not called taxes that have been wasted by the us's on the us's??? No need to answer. Your welcome.
It's not all about you,

13.15-eloquence is a virtue,
13.15-eloquence is a virtue, as is the truth. Sadly neither appeared in your piece. There would be no need for this money if there were no corrupt politicians in British Overseas Territories. TCI, XXXX and a few others..do you think anything would happen about that without the oversight of "Mother"? Hardly. Thank goodness Jamaica is no longer a BOT, that would cost a fortune!
The very "free" press in the UK keeps UK politicos on their toes, and the few that are corrupt get exposed very quickly as a result, and fall from grace, never to be heard of again and often end up in prison. CNS does that job well here, and now that Mac has gone, maybe their investigations will be taken a little more seriously by those left.
If you vote for decent honest MLA's this time around, with Caymans interests at heart, then this money will not be needed in future. Then we would all be happy.
To save their face in the UN
To save their face in the UN the UK is calling this Anti corruption probe operation and methods as mere investigations and to fight corruption.
As one familiar with the UK dirt and their underhandedness and crookedness.
This is nothing short of 21srt century War declared on the territories with an attempt to enslave, intimidate, divide and conquor, to continue to control the territories and discourage them from going independent.
I call on the territories to form a federation for the Caribbean, build your own defense forces, your own national guards, your own, coast guards, your own armies, and unite and
defect from the UK, claiming independence and stop being kicked around by these white men from the UK.
Its time to cut strings.

I bet you're jamaican, coz a lot of them are jealous of Cayman's success and heard it so many times encouraging caymanians to go independent. That ain't gonna happen coz caymanians want to remain under British rule...I can only imagine what would happen to this beautiful island if we went independent...another Jamaica!!!
Only a Caymanian would call
Only a Caymanian would call what Cayman has now a success.
You uneducated, illiterate,
You uneducated, illiterate, racist moron.
Form your own defence forces, hilarious, I bet you'll pull the plug on that one the first time you're required to perform peace keeping duties in some 3rd world sewer or send troops to Afghanistan.
You can't organise your own garbage collection or pay your debts to the evil white men in the UK, how the hell will you be able to afford the forces in your ill thought out diatribe?
Cayman could never put together a fighting force together, certainly not one to stand beside the Jamaica Defence Force or the Bermuda Regiment. How many Caymanians are signed up in the British forces, remember Johnson Beharry VC from Grenada, have you got real heroes like him amongst you? NO, you'd rather do it the Cayman way and get everyone else to do the work whilst you sit on your fat arse and criticise.
A defence force, you couldn't even come to your own peoples aid after Hurricane Ivan, how many local RCIPS officers failed to report for duty in the aftermath, very few if I remember correctly?
There are two things you will need to make your dream come true, guts and money, and you have neither. If you want independence, I don't suppose anyone in the UK would care, in fact they would almost certainly raise a cheer to see another bunch of corrupt wannabes taken off the payroll and left to sink in their own crap. Go on, at least have the guts to go for independence, then when you get it, (unlikely as it maybe) then puff your chests up and see who really cares or even notices.

This sounds like 'Son of Tempura' me. It will be interesting to see which private sector consultants are brought in to help out but at least this time the UK taxpayers will be footing the bill.
What is interesting is that Tempura has cost CIG something like CI$20million so far but this whole exercise is budgeted at about half that. Guess HMG is a bit more careful with the funds when they come out of their own budget?

Oh yea, this time it'll be value for money, the big boys are in town now and there ain't a rock big enough for your crooked politicians and 'businessmen' to hide under. Go SOCO, SFO, Fraud Squad and the CLP, lets clean up these bottom feeders for good.

I trust all companies and individuals involved in major infrastructure or development projects in the Cayman Islands will take note. If the RCIPS and Political heirarchy know who the gangs are, their leadership, where they operate from, and their various specialties, yet continue to do nothing, does that equate to moral corruption, or willful blindness?
The gangs are just local
The gangs are just local retards who think big but are just little fish. It's the politicians, community leaders and 'businessmen' who are the real brains and money behind corruption on these islands. Look at them all and if they are guilty, jail their oversized egos and arses and seize their ill gotten gains for the tax payer.
Or maybe even just a little
