Iguana eating tourists arrested in Bahamas

(BahamasB2B.com): Two American tourists have been arrested after photographs of people cooking and eating endangered iguanas in the Exuma Cays were posted on a social networking website. Friends of those responsible for posting the pictures on Facebook circulated the photographs in an e-mail that worked its way to executive director of the Bahamas National Trust (BNT) Eric Carey on MOnday afternoon. Horrified by the gruesome images of the critically endangered species being butchered, grilled and devoured, Mr Carey alerted staff at the BNT Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park. Go to article

How pathetic. Unfortunately, this level of moronicism is all too frequent in US tourists who have little or no regard for either the culture or the wildlife of the ROW (rest of the world). Hopefully, a couple of years in a Bahamian jail would sort them out.

Sea Turtle Tastes Like Veal

(reason.com): If sea turtle tasted like chicken, I’d fess up, but it really does taste like veal. I grew up occasionally eating mud turtles pulled out of the ponds on my family’s farm. And mud turtle does taste like chicken. (Legs from freshly butchered mud turtles also writhe when you toss a bit of salt on them, as my startled mother once found out.)

A gang called Cayman

Right now, somewhere in Grand Cayman, three or four young Caymanian men are sitting together in a room talking about revenge. They are putting together a plan to kill another young Caymanian. These boys lack the internal values or good sense that would lead them to pause and think this through.
