Article in Caymanian Compass: Re: Zoe Solomon Sand Castle Competition Fund Raiser

To the Cayman public,

My name is Alice Solomon (mother of Zoe Solomon),

I would just like to make the public aware that some of the information published in the above article in today's compass is un true. Please be advised that I was not interviewed before this publication.  It would appear that some of the details in the article were not updated from the time Zoe was a baby.

Points of information corrected:

1) I have been employed for approx 4 years (not unemployed as the article states)

2)  Zoe also has medical insurance (not uninsured as the article states)

3)  At this point Zoe and I only have to fly to Miami to see her doctor once a year - Pls note that this can change but this is the arrangement presently. Zoe has an appointment scheduled for next month to check her pace maker that was replaced in Feb of this year.

4) The phone number in the advertisement is also not my number.  I'm not sure where that number came from.

The ad in the Compass is to advertise a fund raiser that is being held on 28th Aug 2010 at Calico Jacks to assist us with expenses. I just wanted to make corrections to the above points as I have already received numerous phone calls from people cursing me and making accusations.  People in Cayman like to sterotype and cast judgement. I know that many people know about my daughther and her heart condition.  I'm a single mother and find it hard sometimes.  I want to make it clear that I did not provide the information that you see published. It would seem that the information would have been put there to try to convince the public to feel even more sorry for me.  I stand to correct this fact as I'm not a beggar or want anyone to have pitty on me. My situation is what it is and the The ARK Foundation was nice enough to put on a fund raiser to assist me in some way.

If you require confirmation that what I'm saying is true please contact Tara of The ARK Foundation at 926 7925 or 949 3553.

Thank you for taking the time out to read the above.

Sincerely,

Alice Solomon

(Zoe Solomon's Mother)
