IS THE PREMIERE, THE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE AND THE L.A. LETTING US DOWN AGAIN?
The recent decision to hire 50 more babies with milk still around their mouth, and smelly pampers to compliment the RCIP is nothing but a slap in the face to the people of the Cayman Islands.
The outbursts of pleas to the Commissioner of police and the Premiere including the Governor to return former Chief Inspector Haines and his task force that kept the Cayman Islands communities safe seems to have fallen on deaf ears.
The fact that all these officials and lawmakers elected by the people have been made fully aware of the wishes of the people and have not the decency nor the respect to respond to the people with at least one lame excuse, let alone good reason for their silence,is poor judgment, disrespectful, and outright unprofessional.
The newly elected Premiere with nose upturned seems to believe that he does not have an obligation to respond to the pleas nor the needs of the people who elected him into office. Globe trotting is more important.
It was reported that the PPM and the then governor, were responsible for Mr. Haines leaving RCIP, So why isn't the UDP elected Leader trying to bring some comfort to the people as to exactly how and 'WHEN"he intends to consult with the governor in reinstating Mr. Haines and his old Task force, so that we may live in peace, and safety once more. Mr. McKeeva Bush has been blessed with his own body guards, what about the people, we have the police force working daily yes, but what are they accomplishing, 'NOTHING" the system is obviously broken and need to be fixed. This new commissioner of police needs the help of Mr. Derek Haines at his side as his 2nd in command and thats a fact. If there's a budget for 50 more trainee rookie policemen then there's a budget for one highly decorated and competent policeman and his task force. Comm. Baines specializes in traffic obviously, and Mr. Haines specializes in fighting serious crimes with a proven track record. This is a dynamic Duo that will enhance the lives of the citizens and residents keeping Caymanians and X-pats alike, safe. Public opinion is that this would be The Dream Team, a Dynamic Duo.
Less people getting killed on the roads, and putting murderers and drug lords in jail.
In a reccentnews publication Mr. Bush was seen begging the criminals to stop the criminality. The public has also asked or the attention of the premiere on the subject of bringing back this competent and highly professional police and his task force. to which the Premiere is not responding nor appears to be in the least bit concerned, despite his call for the criminals to stop all the criminal activity.
Now that he has a way of escape he is dodging the issue and has not even the guts to present himself to the peopleof the Cayman Islands with an answer that elected him on this issue. Mr. Bush they simply want to know what is being done to bring back Haines. Its not entirely up to Baines. we elected you to make these decisions. And if your answer is yea or Nay, we want to know "WHY?"
We want to know why Mr. Bush is so silent on this issue? does he have the same problem the PPM had, or will he stand out differently. Is he on Mr. Haines side as well, we need to know if the premiere is really serious about fighting crime or is he just talking letting off steam.

Yes you're right mamme. There
Yes you're right mamme. There has been no formal response to the Cayman Islands public from the Premiere nor the Commissiner of Police regarding the recent requests for the return of Mr. Derek Haines to the RCIP. Hopefully the Commissioner doesn't think for one minute that he's scaring anyone off from being persistent in demanding the return of Mr. Derek Haines and other good former RCIP Task Force officrs that kept the criminals off the street. we are demanding the respect of these officials and the governors attention to this serious matter. We are asking Governor taylor if he is considering the return of Mr. Derek Haines.

I think the Premier and the LA are letting us down severely. As for Comm Baines, he's only been here 6 months, and while I'd like to see more results, I reckon if he can start turning this thing around before the years out then he's not doing so bad. Lets face it, he's inherited a bit of a nightmare, and now he's had time to acclimatize, we need to start seeing some results soon. I am hoping the new Gov can give them all a good slapping, make them do their jobs.

Have you
noticed that Derek Haines in today's editorial did not outright say to the public 'Ys coming back "or " No, I'm not coming back!". May be he doesn't have the heart to break our hearts. Perhaps they're working somthing out behind closed doors or the governor told them to give it some time since he just got here. McKeeva can't have that kind of pressure on him whild the new governor is taking up his office. The governor is bound to ask some heavy questions why the public outcry.
