Cuban refugees repair boat in Frank Sound

(CNS): Updated 3pm -- A wooden vessel carrying thirteen Cubans has departed from the Frank Sound area immigration officials have confirmed. The boat reportedly arrived in Cayman waters in the eastern districts at around 8:00am this morning, 16 July. The men aboard the 20-foot motorized wooden craft undertook their own repairs on the vessel while in the ocean as the group of refugees intended to carry on to another destinaiton and therfore did not seek assistance from Cayman officials.

I would suggest that you go to Dr Foley and let him fit you up with a pair of glasses. Cayman has over extended hospitality to not only Cubans, but to almost everywhere. They have outnumbered us, and forhet about most of them being kind to us. They screw us in any way they can. Do you have any idea the amount of money that Government spent on the Tent City crisis? If Fidel did not put a stop to this we would have to be extending a piece on to Cayman. Not only did the Governmet help but so many good hearted folks from the general public. They left Cayman and there was very few who even communicated to say how they are getting along. Thats the reason why the word UNGRATEFUL surfaces so much.

I agree completely with your post 15:36. I have seen the way our Immigration treats these people, even when they show up here illegally, they are treated with the upmost consideration and respect, and are allowed a lot of privileges over and beyond what they should expect or are entitled to.
However, what do we get in return? trickery, ungratefulness, dishonesty and a confounding sense of entitlement! Not to mention, their involvement in certain other activities, that i am not at liberty to disclose on this forum.
Nonetheless, we will continue to help them and assist them whenever they show up on our shores, for after all, we are all God's children and this is the Caymanian way.
So let me close by saying this, to all of those poster that are bashing Cayman that we are without compassion, etc, GET THE FACTS FIRST BEFORE RUNNING YOUR MOUTH ON THIS FORUM!
