Cops hunt for WB burglar
(CNS): Police have issued a photo of a man they believe is responsible for a series of burglaries in West Bay. Officers say they want to question nineteen year old Jeovanni Carter Ramirez (left) who comes from the district as he is suspected of being involved in crimes which have taken place in the District over the past few weeks. He is described as 5’5” in height, medium build with a dark brown complexion with long bushy hair, a beard and moustache. Chief Inspector Richard Barrow, the Area Commander for West Bay, said police in the district were having problems finding the local teenager who the senior officer said knows he is a wanted man.
“Despite intensive police enquiries officers have been unable to trace Carter Ramirez. It's clear he knows that we are looking for him and has gone to ground. If anyone has any information about his current whereabouts, or knows of anyone who is assisting him, they should contact West Bay CID on 949-3999, the RCIPS Tip-line 949-7777 or Crime Stoppers on 800-8477 (TIPS),” Barrow stated Wednesday morning.

Well I knew him, went to
Well I knew him, went to school wit him n he's from the same place in west that I'm from. Im not suprised, he had a couple good jobs, he wasnt too bad in school..personally he was a pretty decent guy. All the commenters seem to be playing the blame game between Mac, Foreigners and what ever else, if you ask me the blame would be on young caymanian graduates not being given the opportunity to work good full time jobs so that there wouldn't be a need for a young man to commit crimes! remember survival is key and i do NOT wrong ANY man for doing what he needs to do to survive, you should all put yourselves in his shoes and think about what you would do when your options are that limited.
He is a caymanian by right.
He is a caymanian by right. That is, he comes from a large West Bay family that are Cuban born ancestral Caymanians. So his status was not some fly-by-night johnny come-lately give away. The grant of status to him and any of his siblings at that time, I believe, was to cement their documents. But they are Caymanian and his status is granted or would have been granted under the By Right category.
While I strongly disagreed/disagree with the status fiasco, I don't have a problem with this one. He is as Caymanian as Mr. Kurt Tibbetts who was birthed in Jamaica. No offense Mr. Tibbetts. We all know you are Caymanian and all your bloodline. Just saying the same goes for this young man that the Police are hunting for.
Wish they would be as relentless on catching these Robbers in-progress. An absolute waste of time they are.
What's the big deal? His
What's the big deal? His biological father is Caymanian.
If you switched in words like

How could such a well put
How could such a well put together looking young man be accused of criminal activity such as robbery?

Erik the Fish - my post was clearly above your comprehension level. My comment was one of clarification - as in the refernce to 'local' being obviously 'as opposed to being otherwise', which is the case. Maybe the xenophobe in you is a bit close to the surface and my clarification of facts rubbed you. You think?
Actually #453; granted on

how can rcips name and picture a suspect, yet they refuse to name people actually arreested for crimes???
because many of those
because many of those arrested are related to powerful/political caymanian families.....
No need to confine this to
No need to confine this to "Caymanian families". There are prominent, well-connected, wealthy expats before the courts on serious charges but none of it is reported in the press.
The hair is probably normally
The hair is probably normally braided so try to picture him with braids. That bushy hair is normally only seen when the braids are taken out. If he is caught with braids its a good sign he was somewhere getting his hair done, whilst being hunted by the police. Arrest the hair dresser as well!

This is the results of the Cabinet Grants of Caymanian Status in 2003 no. 450.
If he is convicted then
If he is convicted then Cabinet has the power to revoke his status. However they will not do so because they like the public to believe the status grants are irrevocable - so we continue to be placed in danger by known criminals that the UDP refuses to do anything about.
Originally the grants were
Originally the grants were irrevocable but the law has changed since 2003.
You must be seriously insane,
You must be seriously insane, here we are looking for a man who the Police want for crimes against Cayman and all you can do is prove to the rest of us that you are another mindless xenophobe with a political bent.
Grow up and stop blaming everything on foreigners, our jail is full to overflowing with born Caymanians and I am ashamed of that and the fact that idiots like you use CNS to voice your racist opinions.
If you have nothing positive to say, shut up
Eric - we are just pointing
Eric - we are just pointing out that Mac, through his failure to follow procedures and allowing improper influences to determine important issues, has exposed us and our property to real danger that would quite possibly not exist had the rules (with appropriate checks and balances) been followed.
This is not xenophobia or racism. This is fact that some bad elements have been welcomed amongst us despite laws designed to prevent this.
'Local' teenager?? He's
'Local' teenager?? He's probably back home by now, I mean the country where he's really from. A Republic but not West Bay.

is that picture an accurate representation or the description....I think not. The bloke in the picture could hardly be described as having ' long bushy hair' or a 'beard' . Well done RCIPS you are spot on.

At what point are we going to
At what point are we going to start making people accountable for helping these thugs out? It's ridiculous on an island of this size that we can't find criminals. Let me re-phrase that...criminals that are being sought by the police. BTW nice moustache.
