 We need someone in

We need someone in government who doesn't have these useless "street smarts" and someone who has a proper education.

really in turly cayman is no longer the cayman where i was born and raised and i'm sorry to say but i blame this on McKeeva since he became the big man it has gone to his head. one minute he want us to be independent one minute its a whole different story. if cayman would to ever go independent i might as well move to jamaica cayman dont have anything to surivive so that would be the stupidest thing he will do.

but on real McKeeva is not cut out for this. we need people that is serious about helping us.

if you nah serious we dont need yah.

bring the uk people in those that type of government we need. the seirous ones though.

i want my old cayman back that was nice bout 10 years ago sweet old cayman =)

I am overwhelmed by the achievements of this government!   They took what they said were the previous government's problems and made new problems of their own. I can hardly wait for the previous government to take over the new problems of this government and make more of their own and then later....for this government to get back in...

These figures do not surprise

These figures do not surprise me. The UDP, & especially the much travelled & much pampered Premier, has spent the vast majority of the past year blaming the PPM for everything. If Mr. Bush & the UDP had spent more time concentrating on the problems in Cayman instead of blaming the PPM for everything, they may have made a little headway in solving a few problems. As a result of their constant 'PPM bashing' (elections are over) they have made things worse & Caymanians are suffering more than ever because of Mr. Bush & the UDP.

An appalling year when the

An appalling year when the only thing that I can see has been achieved is Cayman being advertised in a very negative light by its very own Premiers words and actions.  In terms of progress - there hasn't been any.  In terms of the country's financial predicament, the Premier has acted shamefully irresponsibly.  Despite his assertions to the contrary, the Premier alone is leading the country to the grave, and he is taking us all down with him.

You must be dreaming - the

You must be dreaming - the UDP Government has made sufficient progress since taken office last year, given the state of the Govt. finances which was beyond the electorate’s imagination.

Just to name a few of their achievements since taken office, i.e. they have gotten us off the black list, taken control of the excessive spending in govt., made amendments to the immigration laws to address some of the imperfections of the rollover policy, increase in tourism visitors, implementation of the education policy and addressing the special needs children.    That is just a few achievements that I can recall.   One thing I know for sure they are not borrowing and spending recklessly like the previous govt. did

As a voter I am very pleased with the present government and their performance over the past year, given their constant struggles and hurdles that they have to cross in order to get anything done.

The Premier and his govt. are working tirelessly to bring investment to these islands which will create work and jobs for those in need of work and to them, I say  hold on and support the govt. they will deliver by the grace of God!

WOW where do I start to pick

WOW where do I start to pick this crap apart. I feel like a kid in a candy store who's been eating chocolates like it was the fruit of life itself.

Huuummm...let's do this systematically then...

"they have gotten us off the black list" - PPM did the work UDP did the flying around getting signatures and taking in the sites. Brings us to point #2.

"taken control of the excessive spending in govt" - This one is a keeper. Mr Premier flew all over the world to every event known to man spending 161 days out of 270 away from Cayman during a financial crisis and a crime wave. Huuummm "control of spending" What do you mean exactly? They were now fully responsible for all teh spending issues personally? Sorry maybe I missed something. So what control are we talking about? They only now cut the 3.2% to CS and themselves instead of the generous 30% by the Premier and 20% by the MLAs they gave only 3.2% and have done nothing about anything else. What other cuts could you possibly be talking about? Please do tell.

"made amendments to the immigration laws to address some of the imperfections of the rollover policy" - Ooh boy here we go again. Status Gate II - Gave carte blanche access to our Island to anyone with a dollar. Again not doing anything to protect the rights of Caymanians instead of enforcing the policy already in place by making companies actually seek out qualified Caymanians and train them to fill the position. Instead Companies find people overseas advertise because they must, dismiss candidates because they know them or specifically want a foreigner because they can hold the permit over their heads. You mean that fix? The one that again strangles Caymainians in their own country? That one?

"increase in tourism visitors" - Again taking credit for something else. The recession has slowed in the US albeit not stopped but slowed so some Americans are travelling again and all of a sudden it's YOU who brought them back. They stopped because they weer loosing their homes you smuck not because of us. Well yes because of us too but nothing you fixed. We are expensive from hem to hook now and have little to nothing to offer but that's another story. End fact is YOU DID NOTHING. They just found more money nut case.

"implementation of the education policy and addressing the special needs children." - Well not 100% sure on this but can you implement one for the Premier while you are at it. I can only hope he enrolls. He's been doing a bang up job on everything he's touched. I;m thinking he may have some "special needs" also.

"not borrowing and spending recklessly like the previous govt. did" - WOW - Let's go back to point #2 shall we. Flying around the world like a jetsetter during financial crisis. Did he not borrow more money? Is he not asking still for even more money? Has he not heard about Video Conferencing or Couier packs? Must he jump the plane everytime someone across the pond belches? I'm sorry but to teh average Joe this is not control this is OUT OF CONTROL. I'm only waiting for the numbers to roll in. I;m sure he's fighting those tooth and nail as we speak.

I'm not a PPM supporter as such but I just dislike UDP a tee wee bit more. But let's set the record straight. The Schools were not so well timed but our financial secretary possibly willfully mislead PPM into thinking we were in calm waters when half the ship was already underwater. The idea of the schools is a good one and one they well told their voting public about in their manifesto so this was no surprise. The decentralisation was the mother of all mess ups and the giving MLAs a massively UNDESERVING payhike did not help. Allowing CS to grow even further out of proportion again added to the position.

YES. PPM F'd up.UDP record to date even outshines that by the Premier degrading Cayman in front of the world for his own political gain which now is biting him where it hurts the most. His mouth may have cost the Cayman Islands tens of Millions of dollars. I'm not 100% sure here but I am betting that companies who were on the fence about leaving Cayman may well have been pushed over by his words. He could well have cost Caymanians jobs and this country a lot of money by opening his mouth for his own political gain. A wise man once said it's best to shut up and be thought a fool than to speak up and remove all doubt. Obviously he did not read this saying.

Both parties suck. Neither will ever get my vote again. Not sure who I will vote for but it won't be either. I see them both as self serving and disengenious pompous money grabbing teams.

Let us never forget that while I bash UDP here it's PPM who gave them the big raise. They too must face our wrath. People do not allow yourself to be like the Blinded UDP supporters who see nothing bad about UDP. Always keep a clear mind about who did what and what is right for your country because all these idiots will come and go but their damage will be with us forever.

So in the end SHUT UP ABOUT YOUR SO CALL ACHEIEVEMENTS. All you have achieved is to finish what PPM started and start to create Travel Gate I and Status Gate II.
