I think the Romans had the

I think the Romans had the right idea when they fed the Christians to lions.

It's the only way to stop them talking about sex; or more specifically, trying to put a stop to the sex that they think other people are having:- no gay sex, no sex before marriage, no sex with condoms, no birth control, vows of chastity.

Deny your biological urges or the sky wizard will be angry!

You sound like a bunch of weirdos.

But we are a bunch of wierdos! Back in 2006, the late and very lamented Cayblogger ran a piece on the fact that a "Gay Cruise" elicited public outrage (in the persona of a Pastor McTurtle) while the "gay liveboard" dive holidays on Cayman Agressor went unnoticed. Have a look at http://cayblogger.typepad.com/my_weblog/2006/02/exclusive_reade.html

There is nothing wrong with

There is nothing wrong with gay cruise ships coming to the island, do you people not understand WE NEED MONEY TO SURVIVE? Money WILL BE SPENT IN THE STORES IN TOWN. What's so hard to understand about that? It has NOTHING to do with "God" either, all the fools on  here who are ranting and raving about god are some of the biggest hypocrites out there. You all do wrong, half of you cheat, steal and lie. Aren't those some of the worst "sins"? Get a life. Being gay has nothing to do with you unless you are gay too! Focus on yourself and stop watching other peoples lives, that's one of the biggest problems in the world. Focus on YOU.

Do you remember Hurrican Mitch

If you can recall Hurricane Mitch and the timing of when it took place, there was a gay cruise ship trying to come here and they were turned down! They went on to their other places and were accepted! Now you ask what Mitch has to do with this!?!

Look at the pattern Mitch took and where it hit land! If you can recall Cayman Islands were supposed to be dead on target but it took a dramatic turn at the last moment and then hit every single place where that same gay cruise ship went! You may say it is just a coincidence, I say that was God!

It's wrong and we the Cayman Islands should not support it! The Cayman Islands has a foundation of Religion and it once stood strong on that foundation, how much is it standing on it now!?! We had Ivan and we had Paloma what more does the Cayman Islands need for a wake up call, what it is going to take next. We have foolishness going on here that is only getting worse!

Come on Cayman open your eyes to what is happening, get a reality check and see what's going on here before it's to late! God is coming soon!! Are you ready!?!

 Final point, ALL cruise-ship

Final point, ALL cruise-ship passengers, tourists, and residents alike, regardless of sexual orientation, NEED to be made aware of our 'Decency Laws', and conduct themselves in an appropriate manner when in the 'Public's eye'.

What you do in Private is your own business.

Cruise ships ESPECIALLY need to inform their passengers when they are going ashore here.

Too many people walking around in 'Itsy-bitsy' bikini's and (GOD forbid) Speedos .... and nothing else. Also, no G-strings please, I've already had 2 accidents as a result.

Gosh I soooo agree with you on this.  I can remember several occasions stood in line at Fort Street to buy my lunch and trying not to be completely put off my food by some of those "itsy bitsy" things them tourists (almost) wear.  We should have a similar dress code to Barbados: Beachwear is considered inappropriate anywhere except the beach. In shops and on town streets, you should be fully dressed with a shirt and shorts, or casual clothing for dining.

Jesus taught us, 'Love thy neighbor' the Greatest Commandment second only to 'Love thy GOD'.

 He also preached;

'Judge not, lest ye be Judged'

'What you do to / for the Least of my Brethren, you do onto me'

'Do onto others, as you would have done onto you',  and

'Call nothing I have made, unclean'.

What a bunch of Hypocrites we are! We call ourselves a 'Christian Nation', yet we expend so much effort promoting Hate and Dis-harmony?

Of Christians, Jesus said, 'By your works, they shall know you'

I do not know WHAT makes people 'Gay', but as long as they are not 'Sexual predators, or Pedophiles', I will love ALL of GODs' children, and let GOD alone be the Judge.

I don't know.  Do you?  Would Jesus have been interested in ministering and saving a gay person?  Does God not desire for all to be saved?  Would God stop someone from going to heaven because of preference?  So if He don't feel like it, blacks can't make it?  Latin?  Whites? Chinese? Those who've previously cheated?  Lied? Killed?  Sinned in general?

Is any Christian willing to say it is impossible for God to save anyone?

The CMA are protesting

The CMA are protesting against cruise ships.  They are saying that we should be against them.  The question accurately and very intelligently asks the question in a manner which closely follows the debate on the site - broadly "Do you agree with the CMA's position on cruise ships".  Just because this well worded poll shows what a minority the bigots are does not mean the rules should change.

My fellow Christians I invite

My fellow Christians I invite you to join me in picketing outside the Matrix night club tonight and every Saturday and Wednesday night until the person who killed Carlos Webster comes over to us and confesses his sin.

Please bring "Thou shall not kill" signs that you can proudly display so everyone can see who the real Christians are.

With the power of prayer we shouldn't have to spend too many nights outside that den of iniquity. Next week we will picket outside the LA building with "Thou shall not steal" placards.

By the time that cruiseship gets here we should be well rehearsed and feeling comfortable with our "love the sinner, hate the sin" roles..........

The only difference between

The only difference between this cruise ship and the others is that on this one we know that a majority of the passengers are gay.  On the other ships it's just that the minority of passengers are gay.  They still come here.  And they live here.  And there's nothing that can be done to change that.

For the Sake of self!

I don't care if they come around or not.  Just don't expect blessings when we disregard the Creator!

Do I detest gays?  Not at all.  Should they come to the island, why not?

Does the Christian have the right to oppose this?  Yes they do.

If it's nonviolent protest..not a problem at all is it?  Christians have their right too!

As far as I'm concerned, if you are straight or gay...God will Judge you.  Know howver that you have been warned by the scriptures of the punishment that He has in store.  As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!

As a Christian, I ponder

As a Christian, I ponder this... the issue I have with this thinking is, why is it that Christians feel so strongly about this issue, but not other "sins" or "abominations"?

I've come to realize that most people address this issue out of a disgust for an "act", rather than researching the scriptures for yourself. If you've researched the issue for yourself and still come to the same conclusion then fine, but what I experience in this issue is that people respond out of ignorance, or worse, what other people say.

There are many scriptures that are used to "clobber" gays, with 6-7 key ones that are repeatedly used. If we are going to use Leviticus, then we need to seriously protest clothing stores (selling dual fiber garments), Fosters, local restaurants, farms... THEY SELL PORK AND LOBSTER. Not to mention that there is a restaurant on the island that is sooo ungodly that they have the name LOBSTER POT!!!! Ohhh the abomination. ((sarcasm folks, just trying to stress the mentality that abounds))

((sarcasm continues, though true)) Not to mention the fact that we shake hands everyday at work or on the streeet and vote in people that sin! GREED, GLUTTONY, WIFE BEATERS, TAKING THE LORD's NAME IN VAIN! NOT TO MENTION INFIDELITY and DRUNKINESS!!! I have them in caps for emphasis, not judgement.

Why not protest the high level of infidelity in the island. The gay cruise ship will come and go. The infidelity is here to stay it seems. Where is the balance? So much crime going on and not a word. But here we have a gay cruise and you would think that Alicia Keys was coming! Oh, sorry, she did come... nobody obviously has a problem with the fact that she sang a song with Jay-Z where Jay-Z totally disrespected Jesus Christ. And she was welcomed with open arms to this "christian" country. What gives? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dApiC2-l04

Not to mention the fact that people who aren't even Christian "get religion" and use it as a weapon against people, yes, HUMAN BEINGS.

So my question is this... what is it about this issue that ignites us so? Why aren't we as passionate about other sins as we are about this? Is it because if we saw it as another sin then we would be forced to see that gays are human beings just like us? And I'm sorry, I pray that God searches our hearts and reveals to us the truth in our hearts when we use the "hate the sin, not the sinner" line. I've heard how some people talk about it.

I genuinely want to know... from Christians, what makes homosexuality the most detestable thing to you? Check your emotions when it comes up.

Pondering.

re: "As a Christian I ponder....."

Ponder no more.  Let me clear it up for you.  And being a Christian I think I know whereof I speak.  Homosexuality is the newest area that some of the Christian community   can agree on and point their fingers at.  You see, as long as they can degrade someone else, maybe we won't notice that they are hypocrites. In order for some people to feel superior and "holier than thou" they must have a common enemy they can attack.  Today you will notice that the gay community is the latest target.  Whatever happened to "love your neighbor as yourself'?  And don't give me that "hate the sin love the sinner" rubbish.  That is the ultimate of hypocrisy.  I don't see or feel any love radiating from these hypocrites.  Do you?

I disagree that there should

I disagree that there should be any right to protest against the visit of an individual because they are gay.  The right of free speech cannot be unbounded.  We would not allow a demonstration in favor of race discrimination by a neo-nazi group, since it is not a protest but the language of hate.  Discrimination against homosexuals is the same as race discrimination.  The CMA are preaching the language of hate and fear.  Such hate actions should be criminalizied in Cayman.

The ignorant, intolerant and

The ignorant, intolerant and mislead people are usually the ones who are in opposition to something like this. There are many gay men and women in Cayman already, and many of the ones whom I happen to personally know are Caymanians. They have always been here and will always be. What is the issue? Cayman, it's time you learn the concepts of love and tolerance. As an island who seems to run to the church when dealing with their own homophobia, we sure do discriminate and preach intolerance a lot. Especially for a "Christian" society. Christianity is about tolerating, accepting and loving each other. So if you are one of these Bible thumpers, you may want to take a better look at yourself and the way you treat your fellow brothers and sisters.

"Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you"
